An ECExpression is a customizable statement, similar to an Excel formula, that can be used to define the presentation rule for a property or class. You can customize these expressions on the basis of their project requirements (for example, you can update the presentation rule for the Equipment class so that it only uses the Device Type Code and Number properties to define the name).

ECExpressions can be updated using applications such as OpenPlant Project Administrator and Bentley Class Editor.
